eat with the seasons

Our produce is harvested at its peak each week. Enjoy your veggies when they’re at their most deliciousness.

how do you farm?

We are a no-till farm, using only organic processes and methods. We promise to be good stewards of the land and soil, believing healthy soil grows healthy food. Garden soil just like the forest floor loves to be covered. We use a variety of methods to mimic nature: cover crops, straw, dried leaves, wood chips and tarps. We take great pride in providing nutrient dense, organically grown food to our family and yours.

how does The Farm Basket work?

The Farm Basket its kind of like a CSA (which stands for Community Supported Agriculture), but not exactly. When you sign up for the Farm Basket at Wild Violet Herbs, you commit to purchasing a basket of produce each week from our farm (during the set season of the program). Unlike a CSA, we are not asking for money up front, just a commitment. Also, all your items will be placed into a farm basket for pick up. We ask that you bring that basket back each week. Not to worry, if you forget, you can still take the your farm basket with you and bring it back on your next visit! If for any reason you are not satisfied with your first basket, you can leave the Farm Basket commitment at that time.

cost

The total cost is $660 for 22 weeks of veggies – that’s $30/week. Payment can be made when you pick up each week. You are welcome to pay the full amount up front if that suits your needs. Preferred payment method is cash or check. We do accept credit cards, but the card processing fee will be added to your total.

when does it start?

The Farm Basket program will run from: May 26-October 21, 2026

Pick up will be at the farm on Tuesdays or Wednesdays 4PM-7PM

When you sign up, pick the day that is best for you. You will still have the option to pick up on both days.

what’s inside your Farm Basket?

Each week you’ll get 5-7 different items. Our baskets will be Farmer’s Choice and will vary with what’s growing in the field. We will rotate items as much as possible and you may get more of an item, if the farm has an abundance. During peak season, the number of items can be higher. This means you can expect to eat with the seasons.  Also, we like to share recipe ideas that can help you use that fresh produce! So, expect some of your baskets to contain a recipe card. Don’t be surprised if you get a few extra surprises from time to time. Here are some examples of what might be in your FARM BASKET:

An example Summer Basket:

Tomatoes

Bag of Lettuce Mix

Peppers

Bag of Kale

Culinary Herb

Beans

An example Fall Basket:

Carrots

Bag of Lettuce Mix

Beets

Bag of Spinach

Specialty Radishes

Beans

A Winter Squash

We love growing lots of interesting produce, culinary herbs and medicinal herbs and are so THANKFUL for you!!
